Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house by using a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all click here South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
